Lord Ashcroft cannot land at St Helena
Yesterday afternoon (Sunday 13 December 2009) lord Ashcroft flew around St Helena in his priviate jet on route from South Africa to South America,
Before arriving and departing St Helena he spoke to Saint Fm the Islands local and only online radio station

It was announced yesterday from the castle in Jamestown that twenty five nominations’ have been received for the forth coming general election. Polling day will be held on the 4th of November 2009

Deadline for candidate nominations
The dead line for receiving candidate nominations for the forth coming general election was at 12 noon today. Candidates were urged to submit their forms before this deadline so that any errors can be corrected in time. There are a number of nominations that was already received a full list of candidates names will be display here.We are also going to add an online virtual voting page to allow you to vote for your counciller. This page will allow you to virtually vote online by selecting who you think you would like to represent you on the Island council.
St Helena public transport contract is renewed until 2013
A new contract was signed today 19 October 2009 between the St Helena Government and local service providers This contract is valid until March 2013. Under this contract public transport will continue to be provided by Solomon’s, Fox Motors and Colin’s Garage. Under the new agreement, all of the existing routes will continue and in addition two new services will operate on a Saturday eveningsThe new runs are expected to begin in November 2009 and will operate for three months on a trial basisMore details of the new runs will be released soon.Public Transport was first introduced to St Helena in 2003.
New local council for St Helena
St Helena Legislative Council was dissolved on 11 September and Polling Day has been set for 4 November 2009. This makes way for the election of a new Legislative Council for St Helena and its people. The deadline for receiving nominations to stand for election is noon on 21 October, which is less than a month away. Polling day will be held on the 4th of November 2009.Do you have any content to add
